I will work on DubQuest items....

Funny Trophies....
Roof Rack Attack (most interesting stuff or display in a roof rack)
Mr. Hoodie (or is it 'Hoody'?... as we discussed)
Rat Rod (given... can also be called 'Anachronism' if you want to be creative*)
Shoeshine Boy (Shoeshine Boy is to Under Dog like Clark Kent is to Superman.... a car that is the sleeper at the event in terms of hiding power and/or performance)
Need a Hubble (the car that is the most 'out there' that it needs the hubble telescope to see it)
Paradox (Looking at a car you have to ask 'How?' or 'Why?')

Steve

An anachronism—from the Greek ανά (ana: against, anti-) and χρόνος (chronos: time)—is an error in chronology, especially a chronological misplacing of persons, events, objects, or customs in regard to each other. The item is often an object, but may be a verbal expression, a technology, a philosophical idea, a musical style, a material, a custom, or anything else so closely associated with a particular period in time that it seems odd when placed outside its origins.

I am in...I will get ahold of Jake and see about him shooting the event. If we can maybe get into the event section in PVW would be great. Either way I will pay him whatever fee to shoot the show. Will be a little donation from BIG-D Motorsports...

I have asked the DN folks that are interested in being a constructive part of organizing this event to PM me so that I can add them to the group discussion. I have rec'd two requests (I think it was Pete and Joe), but haven't acted on them yet as I have been in CA since Sunday AM.

Hey everyone. I spoke with Deanna (FD President) tonight. It turns out that there is a wedding that was booked for the 12. They booked it back in November, so there isn't much we can do about that. So, it looks like the show will have to be on the weekend of the 19th + 20th. She didn't have the exact figure, but she said the budget was in the ballpark of $2800.00. She assured me that our money was in a bank account, named VW rally, and every transaction is labeled, also, I can withdraw funds with a simple phone call. As far a food, and camping go, they are the same as the previous year. any input?

Naturally... that is the weekend for Ascutney. LOL

Okay, so what do we need to do to get this moving forward?

I have a few questions. What was the budget for last year? And what did the show bring in? I would imagine with the money they have given us it went OK, but just wondering.

Since this would be the weekend before H2O, I think we will have to start pushing now, get sponsers lined up, etc so that when the last minute push comes we aren't scrambling to find people. Like I told Steve, I am willing to work the phones, and/or whatever might be needed.

Also, when is the next meeting? The sooner I know the better, so i can make plans to not miss it.

thx,
paddy

X2

and are the "new" catagories/awards on top of the pre-existing classes and awards from last year?

Why don;t we make it a FALL show from here on in. I could set up the Pumpkin cruise again and end it at the show. Just a thought :|

I'm more than okay with changing the date to a fall date (I assume October... need to avoid the Philo hillclimb; normally 17-18th). Regardless if I can make this event, I want to help. As always, our house is always available as a place to meet.

Trophies... assuming I understand the classes above, it seems there are 60 trophies.

Is is correct that the water-cooled is Stock 1/Modified 2 and air-cooled is Stock 2/Modified 1?
