So I screwed up and now its for sale. I have a 2001 jetta vr6 with189194 miles on it. As of Friday 1/30/15 it needs at least new valves but most likely a head or motor. At 179k I replaced the chains and guides. I put 10k miles on it and then got a p1340 code. As a result it would not pass new York state inspection. I replaced the cam position sensor and it did not fix the code so I pulled the valve cover off and it was off a tooth. I decided to pull the motor again and redo the timing. Once it was done I put 100 miles on it and was able to get it inspected at 189193 miles. I made it 1 mile from the inspection station when it went from running like new to making the most horrendous noises I've ever heard an engine make. Long story short I had some how forgotten to tighten a cam gear bolt and the gear fell off at 60 miles an hour. I did put everything back together and was able to start the car. It does idle and will move at least enough to drive onto a trailer. The body is in good shape other than the clearcot which is peeling. It is blue with gray leather and a 5 spd. It's the glx so it has every option including the rear sunshade. I love this car and don't know what to ask for it so I am open to offers. I am in plattsburgh about a mile from the grandisle ferry. My phone is 518-335-5507 and my name is Justin. Thank you.

I need this car gone. The car does start up and idle fine. I even drove it around the block a few times. It has a miss on cylinder 4. My wife is telling me that if I can't sell it soon that I will have to cut my losses and scrap it because she doesn't want it sitting here. I recently put a battery , New maf, and cam position sensor in it. $700 obo. I'll throw in a well used bently manual.

Hi there.

Do you by any chance have an extra set of 15" wheels you used with that car that you'd like to sell separately? If so, jcollins914@hotmail.com would be interested.

Thanks,
Jeff

Still have this. 400, will make an excellent parts car or with a little work it could be a good every day car. It has lots of new parts, coilpack, radiator, Bosch maf, slave cylinder, injector seals, etc. I also have a new uninstalled cam position sensor and outer tie rod ends. The new parts alone are worth more than twice what I'm asking. 518-335-5507 please call or text if interested. It does start and move. I actually drove it around the block yesterday. Thank you.
